Project Generate shares everyday skills for safe, healthy, sustainable, budget living through one-to-one mentoring, group workshops and regular connect and chat groups.
We are client-focused and community-led, so the support and skills that are shared are based on what families and individuals require, meeting the current needs in the community at no cost.
Project Generate is based in the Katikati, with our services reaching from Bethlehem to Waihi Beach. Our team of 3 staff, 7 board members and 30 volunteers are very much part of our local community.
Some of the initiatives where we help our community include;
Our regular and one-off events
Including the monthly Crop Swap, annual Repair Café and regular Growing Food workshops.
Our regular weekly sessions
Including the Bethlehem and Katikati Parents Groups; weekly learning to sew and knit sessions.
Workshops in conjunction with local organisations
Including Skills Club at Katikati Primary School and Omokoroa Point School, Grow on Seedings Club, Just Cook 4 Healthy Ageing workshops and even the Great Bliss Ball Bake Off at Wise and Wonderful!
Life Skills Mentoring
One-to-one support for new parents, newbies to growing food – or anyone in our community needing support that are referred to us.
Community led requests
Including reading at the Katikati College, helping out at Wise and Wonderful, a ‘walking bus’ for local early learning centres and phone calls to the socially isolated.
